MGM has announced that it should be ready by 2016. The film will still feature Daniel Craig, who played the role of England’s most revered fictitious spy in Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale and Skyfall. MGM has yet to find a director for this 24th James Bond movie. Like the previous 3 Bond flicks, this one will be produced by MGM, Sony and Eon studios. It has been said that Daniel Craig’s participation in the movie is virtually certain. Although Daniel Craig is the most criticised James Bond in history, the producers of this next Bond flick have judged it wise to continue collaborating with the actor. This is not surprising if we take into account the earnings of Skyfall. The latter has cumulated 1.1 billion USD worldwide and has won Oscars and a 2013 BAFTA for Best British Picture. This makes it the highest grossing movie of the franchise.
The 24th James Bond movie is on its way! Like the three last Bond films, this new one will have a different director as the last. This means that Sam Mendes will not be directing this movie. MGM chairman and chief executive officer Gary Barber said in a conference call that a new director will be announced soon and that “Mendes did an amazing job on Skyfall”. There is much speculation going on amongst media critics and bookies as to who the next director will be. Some say it will be Guy Ritchie. One thing is sure; it would be rather interesting to see how the Ritchie would direct a Bond movie with Daniel Craig as the lead!
