A trailer is out for HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’

Scenes from the previous and next seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’ were combined in a teaser announcing the HBO series. Fans were quick to point out the new scenes including the one which features a reunion between Jon Snow and Sansa and the heinous look from Cersei. This would mean that Jon will be back at Winterfell.

The storyline of the series

Created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, ‘Game of Thrones’ is based on the fantasy novels ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ penned by George R. R. Martin. The HBO series features several storylines and is about kingdom alliances, noble families and a fight for the Iron Throne. The main protagonists include Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington.

Other shows premiering in 2019

Numerous other HBO serials were shown alongside ‘Game of Thrones’ in the trailer. Viewers were treated to a sneak peek of ‘Big Little Lies’ with Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep. Mahershala Ali and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were seen in ‘True Detective’ and ‘Veep’ respectively.

Furthermore, the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has reportedly been postponed to a later date and will premiere during mid-2019. The video preview released is the first footage of the programme’s final chapter.
