The movie, which was helmed by Terry Gilliam was cursed by some people in the cinema industry. It took a long list of producers and actors to finally complete the project.

The struggles encountered for Terry Gilliam’s movie

Based on a novel by Miguel de Cervantes, ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ took nearly two decades to be completed. Terry Gilliam first started to work on the film in 2000 with the lead actor being Jean Rochefort. It got cancelled several times due to different issues including a lack of funds.

The Don Quixote film was shown at the Cannes Festival

In 2016, the producer Paulo Branco was later assigned to the movie after promising to fund 16 million euros. But Terry Gilliam and him did not get along and the production got suspended. However, the director did not give up and resume filming which ended in June 2017. Despite an attempt by the producer to stop the flick from being shown at Cannes, ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ has concluded the French Festival.
