What is the game ‘Project Cars’?

The first issue of the franchise ‘Project Cars’ featured 74 cars which race across 30 different sites with 110 tracks. The game also offers courses based on real-life locations. The racing simulator was originally released on platforms such as PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Upon its launch, the title received good reviews and was compared to ‘Gran Turismo’ and ‘Forza’, other motorsport genre series.

Slightly Mad Studios presents the racing simulator

The British developers have teamed up with Bandai Namco Entertainment to publish ‘Project Cars’. The former studio’s work consists only of motorsport games such as ‘Need for Speed: Shift’ and ‘Shift 2: Unleashed’. They are partnering up with the publishers GAMEVIL this time, for their future release on mobile platforms.

The upcoming title is a franchise

Aside from its 2015 launch, the game already released a sequel in 2017 named ‘Project CARS 2’. It was developed through a public funding programme. A new time, weather system and an online mode were added to the racing simulator. Furthermore other cars like the Honda Civic, Jaguar XJ220 and the Toyota GT-86 appeared in the updated version.

While the announcement has been made about a new ‘Project Cars’ development, no dates have been mentioned regarding its unveiling. Engadget states that the mobile sequel might not possess the same rendering as the ones on other platforms.
