The brand Toyota divert their attention from diesel cars

Following the Dieselgate issue in 2015, the car industry has observed a decline in the sales and production of diesel engines as stated on the site Consumer Affairs. Due to this change in the market, Toyota has now decided to stop manufacturing diesel cars in Europe. But as the first auto maker to offer environmentally friendly engines twenty years ago, it could represent an advantage for the brand.

Other brands to have made the change recently

Toyota isn’t the only company who took this decision. In Europe, Nissan, Infiniti, Fiat Chrysler and Porsche all recently made their decision to phase out diesel cars. Still according to Consumer Affairs, the brand already made a statement in 2017 which planned the end of such cars by 2040.

The evolution is happening due to a growing demand

Once greatly appreciated in the car industry as it has boosted fuel efficiency as mentioned on The Times of Malta, diesel cars are now seen as an obstacle towards the path of clean and regulated air. As major cities in Europe now implement bans on gas emission, the manufacture of cars not emitting harmful gases is rapidly increasing.
