Noah Hawley, who has also adapted “Fargo” for television, has suggested that this feature will link to the overall “X-Men” franchise. The news was released at this year’s New York Comic Con, and was then confirmed by the executive producer, Lauren Shuler Donner.
An FX serial with Dan Stevens as a mutant
Fans who have been reading the “Legion” comics will be aware that its protagonist shares family ties with Charles Xavier, the creator of the “X-Men”. The character will be played by Dan Stevens in the upcoming series. The latter actor is known for his past role as Matthew Crawley in the PBS series, Downton Abbey. He appeared in 25 episodes of this drama, from 2010 to 2012.

A cast of proven actors and actresses
The former Downton Abbey actor will be joined by Rachel Keller as the main female character in the cast of “Legion”. She will play the role of Haller’s elusive and mysterious girlfriend. This “X-Men” related production’s roster will also include Aubrey Plaza, whom “Parks and Recreation” fans will recognize. The trailer of “Legion” is already available on YouTube, and teases its first season.

The release date of this upcoming “X-Men” sideshow has been fixed for February 8, 2017, according to its latest trailer. This promotional video showcases the cinematography and intricate storytelling of “Legion”, a show that Marvel Television and 26 Keys Productions will also be involved with.
