Michael Keaton has indirectly announced that the “Beetlejuice” sequel may not be released. This epic film, which has been made by Tim Burton, has gathered a cult following throughout the years.

Probably no “Beetlejuice” sequel, according to Michael Keaton

Very rare were the movies that so successfully combined morbidity and comedy before Beetlejuice. The film was released in 1988 and has since become a classic. The sequel would have brought Michael Keaton back in the titular role. This actor is known for his role in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Birdman”.

Tim Burton had spoken about a follow-up motion-picture

Even if a “Beetlejuice” sequel had been evoked by the director earlier this year, a recent interview given by Michael Keaton is spreading doubt about the film’s development. Indeed, the film magazine Variety published an article in which the “Birdman” thespian said that it is possible the “ship has sailed” regarding a sequel. That being said, there had not been any official production launched on a “Beetlejuice” sequel.

What the actor thinks about a second movie

Michael Keaton, who is known for his iconic interpretation of Batman in the 1989 and 1992 versions of the caped crusader’s filmic apparitions, has also said that much of the “Beetlejuice” film was improvised. He also stated that the project’s director had “beautifully handmade” it, and that if the sequel cannot be made in the right way, it is better not to force its development.

What’s next for Michael Keaton?

Michael Keaton is soon to be seen in action movies such as American Assassin, and The Founder. He will play the creator of McDonald’s in the latter film. The actor will also be part of Spider-Man film reboot, entitled Homecoming. He will play villain The Vulture in this Marvel project, which is being developed by Sony. Its release is set for summer of 2017.
