British singer Ellie Goulding has posted a cryptic message through her Twitter page. The message said “Live and let die”, which is the title of a James Bond film in which Roger Moore starred as main character.

Live and Let Die is also the title of the song composed for this film by former Beatles singer and bassist Sir Paul McCartney. Ellie Goulding’s post on social media may be a direct hint that she is covering this song for the next James Bond film. The singer is known for her impressive vocal range and her electro-infused pop anthems. You might recognise the singer through her song Love Me Like You Do, from her second album Halcyon Days.

Ellie Goulding is not unfamiliar with her songs being used for movies. Indeed, Love Me Like You Do was itself the theme song for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. The pop star has recently returned to the studio to work on her upcoming album, on which the possible James Bond: Spectre track will surely feature. According to the singer, she is excited to work new music.

Until now, there has been no official announcement as to the veracity of the rumours surrounding Ellie Goulding and her participation in the James Bond project. Previous composers who have made 007 songs are Adele for Skyfall and Chris Cornell for Casino Royale.
