The loss of this legendary musician is still being felt through social media, even days after the shocking news was published. The passing of Jack Bruce has been made public through his official Facebook page. He has reportedly died of liver failure.

Even though he was mainly known in the music community for his work with Cream, the bassist/vocalist had 14 solo albums to his name. The band split in November 1968 and after this, the Scotsman went on to record solo albums. Before being Eric Clapton’s band mate, he was also a member of Blues Incorporated, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, and Manfred Mann. The bassist has also collaborated with Gary Moore and Ringo Starr during his career.

Artists such as Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slash, and Tony Iommi have expressed their heartfelt thoughts regarding the death of Jack Bruce. Eric Clapton, his former band mate, has said: "He was a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me". The latest album by this fantastic composer and performer is entitled Silver Rails. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and released in March 2014.
