Known for their free spirited music and stadium filling concerts, the Arctic Monkeys are arguably one of the best Indie Rock bands of this decade. Having released their debut album in 2006, the band has gone on to become one of the most appreciated bands in the world.

Seven years after their debut opus, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, the Arctic Monkeys are now an Indie Rock group with five studio albums and a live album. They have been on a constant touring and recording spree ever since the world has taken notice of their music. During this time, they have won a total of 37 awards and have been nominated a total of 87 times. The awards they have won include the Brit Awards and NME Awards.

“We've never really had an indefinite chunk of time off. I don't think we can tour (this record) anymore,” says drummer Matt Helders. The band is therefore going to have some down time to recharge their creative batteries! The drummer also added that they never expected to be such a hit in the United States.

In his words: “… just not playing to an empty room in America was success for us". The Indie Rock band has not given any indication as to when they will be back with a record. However, Arctic Monkeys fans can rest assured that this does not mean they will not be back!
